What Are Apiceuticals?

The term Apiceuticals refers to the evidenced based therapeutic potential of substances collected by the honey bee within its local environment and transformed into those complex products we know as honey โ€“ propolis โ€“ pollen but which have been used as medicines for thousands of years.

The Growth In Apiceuticals

The last 50 years have seen an extraordinary growth of research into the medicinal properties of a range of products from the beehive - Honey, Royal Jelly, Pollen, Bee Venom Therapy and Propolis. Those products which have shown proven benefit for human beings have come to be collectively termed Apiceuticals.

Why Apiceutical Research LTD?

Apiceutical Research has been created to provide support and research coordination to those undertaking work into this unique and growing area of natural medicines and functional foods.

The company has been formed by Dave Watson a senior reader at Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Strathclyde.

Dave has been responsible for around 20 peer review scientific papers exploring many different aspects of one important apiceutical โ€“ propolis.

Dave Watson has worked in the fields of mass spectrometry and chromatography for nearly 40 years. He has applied these techniques to a wide range of problems in the fields of natural products analysis and clinical chemistry. In the last ten years he has focused on metabolomics and was the local organiser for the 2013 Metabolomics conference in Glasgow.
